Review
of 'Stray Dog Army' from Funky Mofo website:
James
Brewster is delivering his first release on his own label suitably
titled ‘Stray Dog Army Records’. The five tracks weaving
this EP are designed to melt your heart. ‘Living on seaweed
& moths’ is a delicate introduction, pinheads of electronic
pulses flickering across a sonic landscape reminiscent of Mike Oldfield
(‘Tubular Bells’ the first version) and the calm side
of Radiohead’s ‘Kid A’. Although the EP is a collection
of tracks spanning the last 2-3 years, odds and ends of previous
works that never quite made it onto an album – they somehow
manage to fit together seamlessly. Soothing Electronica for the
weary brain. A musical gem.
